Class Dojo

Part of the BJR behaviour policy is the use of Class Dojo.

Each child is assigned a ‘House’ during Reception. This will be the house that the children belong to for their time at BJR.

Positive House (Dojo) points will be awarded on a daily basis for;

Being honest

Being a good sport

Being helpful or kind

Completion of homework

Keeping hands feet and objects to themselves

Staying on task (perseverance)

Trying your best (Particularly good work)

At BJR, house points are recorded electronically using an online system called ‘ Class Dojo’ which should be on every day in class. At the beginning of the year, parents are invited to log in to Class Dojo so that they can follow their child’s behaviour.

House points are applied consistently across the school

  • Any member of staff may award house points
  • Children should receive a maximum of 3 house points at any one time
  • Children should be receiving house points regularly

Children collect house (Dojo) points for the following rewards;

  1. To work toward a Head Teacher Award
    1. Each year, children earn house points to receive a Bronze, Silver and Gold Head Teacher Award.
    2. House points are cumulative and are reset to 0 at the beginning of each academic year
      1. 50 = Bronze
      2. 100 = Silver
      3. 200 = Gold
    3. When a child has collected this number of house points, the class teacher notifies SLT who will present a certificate during a Friday Sharing assembly

To add points for their House

  1. At the end of each week, House points are collected by the House Captains. These are added together and shared on Friday Sharing Assembly
