Headteacher's Welcome
A very warm welcome to Bishop John Robinson, a one-form entry Church of England primary school in the heart of Thamesmead.
We are proud of our joyful, caring, and inclusive school community where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to be the best they can be. Our school vision—Be the best we can; join in learning, play and prayer, and remember God’s word—is at the heart of everything we do. It shapes our understanding, our relationships, and the way we live and grow together each day.
Our core Christian values of trust, forgiveness, and compassion guide every aspect of school life. They help us to build strong relationships, nurture character, and create a safe and respectful environment where all children can thrive.
While we are rooted in our Christian foundation, we warmly welcome children of the Christian faith, those of other faiths, and those with no faith. We celebrate the unique qualities of every child and the rich diversity that reflects our vibrant Thamesmead community.
Alongside our strong spiritual and moral foundation, we are deeply committed to academic excellence. Through a broad, engaging, and ambitious curriculum, we challenge and inspire our pupils—equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed now and in the future.
Great importance is placed on the partnership between home and school, working closely with parents and carers to build strong, supportive relationships. Through open communication, engaging workshops, and shared events, we foster a collaborative community where everyone feels valued, involved, and empowered. By supporting families, we help to create a connected, thriving environment where every child—and the wider school community—can flourish.
Thank you for taking the time to explore our website. We are incredibly proud of our pupils and all that we achieve together at Bishop John Robinson. If you’d like to learn more, please do get in touch—we would be delighted to welcome you in person.
Kindest regards,
Ms Sarah Biney
