Be the best we can. Join in learning, play and prayer. Remember God's word.

Spring 2 - FS1

Our topic for this term is Fairytales, followed by Transport.

We will be reading three fairytales and completing activities in response to the stories. When learning about transport, we will discuss the transport we use to travel to school, what transport we see when we go outside, as well as the transport used throughout history and how it has changed.

In maths, Reception has been comparing weights and using relevant vocabulary to discuss what they can see when weighing objects. We have been reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children have been getting creative by drawing a bed, a chair or breakfast items for Goldilocks. Our next stories are Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs.

Nursery has been reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears, we also created our own storyboard as a whole class after reading the story. In maths, Nursery has been focussing on patterns, specifically ABAB patterns, and using bears to copy and recreate patterns. Some children have experimented with their patterns, challenging themselves to copy and recreate more complicated patterns such as; AABBAABB and ABCABC patterns. To develop our literacy skills and fine motor skills, we have been using tweezers to find the letters hidden in the three bear’s porridge and identify what letter they are. Our next stories are Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs.
