Autumn 2

In Friendship class our topic for this half-term is Under the Sea.

We have been reading the books Tiddler, The Rainbow Fish and The Snail and the Whale.

We have learnt lots in our phonics and are enjoying our daily shared reading. We have been practicing to write our letters and producing the matching letters sounds. We have been reading our Shared Readers (read them at home using the phonics portal) and are working hard on our blending.

We have continued to subitise in maths and are beginning to recognise small groups of objects without counting them. We have been comparing numbers and quantities. We have also been using shapes to make pictures and patterns.

We talked and drew pictures about our wonderful world. We have also thought about the feelings of Mary and Joseph during the build up to Christmas. 

We have continued to develop our safe use of scissors and our pencil grip.

We used musical instruments to make our own rhythms and learnt our Christmas songs, adding our own actions and dancing to the rhythm.
