Autumn 1 2022

Welcome to Peace Class's blog post!

This term, we have started the year off as adventurers, becoming shipwrecked on a deserted Island. We have written a newspaper report based on Kensuke's Kingdom, and have created our own News Report on the missing child in the book.

In Maths, we have been looking at place value and the four operations, and have been expanding our understanding which has set the class up nicely for the year ahead!

In Science, we have been looking at materials and their properties - we have carried out a few experiments, and we even made plastic using just milk and bicarbonate of soda!

In Geography, we have been revising the latitude and longitude of the Earth, and how time zones differ across the world.

In RE, the class have been looking at how Christians use the Liturgy to express their faith, and we have even created a Christian Collective Worship based on St Luke's day, which we celebrated on the 18th October by all wearing blue!

Next term our main text will be Floodlands, by Marcus Sedgwick. This story continues our theme of resilience and perseverance, and the importance of looking after our planet. We will also be studying some poetry and creating some art pieces to commemorate Remembrance Day and in Science we will be focusing on the animals which populate our Planet, and the importance they serve!
