Ethical Mission
As a school, we are proud of our links to the local ship, building docks and the famous Cutty Sark in nearby Greenwich. Our school logo is a boat on a calm sea, hinting at the successes of the maritime adventures launched along the Thames. It also speaks of our Christian ethos and close links with the Church of England: during the storm, Jesus stood up on the boat and told the sea to 'be still'. Throughout many of the storms in our lives, being able to find calm and refuge is important, and our school motto reminds us that Jesus is the anchor of our souls.
Our classes are named after Christian values, with our eldest class for Year 6 being named Justice. As a school, we therefore look beyond our walls, into our wider community (Oikoumene) so that we can be aware of the storms others face in our world, and how we can be a blessing to them.
And so begins our mission: to embody our school vision of being the best we can be, to join in and enable others to join with us, remembering that the Bible teaches us to live as one body: we will be game changers, we will seek justice and speak for those without a voice, we will endeavour to be a place of refuge and calm for those caught in a storm.
