Dear Parents and Carers,


This term, Creation Class will be learning all about some festivals and where the places where they are celebrated and People Who Help Us


Spring Term – People and Places

First Half Term: Festivals / Second Half Term: People Who Help Us


Core Christian Value: Forgiveness

Termly Christian Values: Justice & Friendship

Class Assembly: Tuesday March 27th.


Communication and Language:

We will be listening to topic related stories and rhymes and developing topic-related vocabulary.

Children will be given opportunities to develop their language.

Personal and Social:

We will be settling in the new entrants and continuing to develop the children’s self help and social skills.

We will be learning about how to keep safe and healthy and learning about some different occupations.


We will be doing some planned PE sessions in the hall to develop movement and co-ordination skills.

We will be doing activities to help develop the children’s pencil control such as developing their skills to form straight lines and anti-clockwise circles.

Religious Education:

We will be learning about the Epiphany, Shrove Tuesday, how Jesus healed the sick and the Easter Story.


We will be doing planned sessions on Aspects 3 and 4 of Letters and Sounds – but all areas are intrinsic at nursery such as singing lots of rhymes, reading rhyming books, tapping simple rhythms and tuning into sounds.



We will be doing activities to develop counting skills, number recognition and comparison of small quantities.

We will be exploring and talking about shapes at nursery.

We will try to use shapes appropriately for tasks such as making a collage police car.

Understanding of the World:

We will develop awareness different cultures and places such as China, India and America during our topic work on Chinese New Year, Vasant Panchami (Hindu festival for beginning of Spring) and Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras.

Expressive Arts:

We will be doing some topic related artwork such as an Epiphany collage, Chinese New Year artwork and making kites for the Hindu Festival of Vasant Panchami

We will be dancing to Chinese and Mardi Gras music and singing topic related songs.

PE sessions are on Wednesday mornings for the morning group and Friday afternoons for the afternoon group.
